The MEAM Hall

The largest showcase of international contemporary representational art in small format.

Are you an artist and want to exhibit your work publicly?

Exhibit your work in a museum

About The MEAM Hall

MEAM is interested in promoting the work of representational artists, facilitating the dissemination of their works so that they are made accessible to the general public.

For this reason, the museum opens up places in a new space at the main entrance of Palau Gomis, MEAM headquarters, where the artist can exhibit works in a small format (20 x 20 cm).

In an exceptional manner and to celebrate the 5th edition of "The MEAM Hall," in addition to the designated space in the MEAM lobby in Barcelona, the Foundation presents an exhibition proposal at the First Street Gallery in the city of New York (United States), aiming to give the initiative an international dimension.

The MEAM, House of the Artists.

The MEAM is a contemporary art museum in Barcelona that promotes realist painting and sculpture by international artists.

It is the only museum of living artists in continual movement through activities, exhibitions and events worldwide.

How to exhibit

All the authors of artistic works of legal age, Spanish and foreigners, may request the participation in this initiative, individually or collectively

The work.

You can submit a work of 20 x 20 cm with a free theme and technique, whether it is a painting, drawing, engraving, or sculpture in low relief, but always in the modality of Representational Art.

Participants may submit more than one artwork, requiring an individual registration for each. If accepted, a participation fee must be paid for each artwork. Artists can choose to participate in both exhibitions (New York and Barcelona) or only in Barcelona. Limited spots are available, with 100 slots for both exhibitions and 61 slots exclusively for Barcelona.

Artwork dimensions should not exceed 20 cm x 20 cm. The support for the artwork (canvas, board, cardboard, etc.) should never exceed a thickness of 1.5 cm. The Foundation will frame the artworks with a white frame, which will be returned to the artist along with the artwork. Artworks created on paper without being mounted on a rigid support (wood, metal, foam board, etc.) will not be accepted

The space.

The works will be exhibited in a new space set up in the lobby of the Palau Gomis, MEAM headquarters, with spaces for works in a 20 x 20 cm format. The exhibition in New York will take place at the First Street Gallery in the Chelsea neighborhood, the artistic center of the city.

The exhibition.

Once all the artworks that have passed the selection phase are received, the Foundation will proceed to frame the works and send them to the First Street Gallery in New York. The exhibition will be available from Thursday, June 20, to Saturday, July 13, 2024. Works participating only in the Barcelona exhibition will be stored at the MEAM until the assembly of that exhibition. From July 14 onwards, the artworks will be sent back to the MEAM in Barcelona, where they will be exhibited from early August (depending on the arrival date of the works from the United States) until January 26, 2025. In Barcelona, there will be an opening ceremony with certificate presentation on Friday, August 30.
